By awareness, Maghavan
To supremacy among the gods arose.
Awareness they praise;
Always censured is unawareness.
Version 2:
Through heedfulness, Indra won
to lordship over the gods.
Heedfulness is praised,
heedlessness censured —
always.
Version 3:
By Heedfulness did Indra become the overlord of the gods. Heedfulness is ever praised, and heedlessness ever despised.
